Basketball Game Preview: Marcus Marauders vs. Coppell Cowboys

Marcus hasn't had much luck against Coppell recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Marcus Marauders will challenge the Coppell Cowboys at 6:15 p.m. Coppell took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Marcus, who comes in off a win.

Marcus took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They slipped by Little Elm 41-40. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Lobos are ranked 303rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Coppell ended up a good deal behind Flower Mound on Tuesday and lost 53-35. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marcus now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Coppell, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13.

Marcus ended up a good deal behind Coppell in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, losing 59-45. Can Marcus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
