Basketball Recap: Kailah Crawford's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rockvale over Stewarts Creek

Rockvale has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 67-51 fall against the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks on Friday. Rockvale was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Stewarts Creek apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.

Rockvale's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kailah Crawford, who posted 13 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Nash, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Rockvale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Rockvale's loss dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Stewarts Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.

Rockvale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stewarts Creek, they will face off against Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lebanon will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Stewarts Creek surely won't give up without a fight.
