Softball Recap: Cedar Ridge Finds Home Field Redemption Against Western Alamance

There's no place like home for Cedar Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let the Western Alamance Warriors get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The three-run effort marked the Fighting Red Wolves' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Charlotte Lowry's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Reagan Simmons, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Cedar Ridge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Western Alamance, they moved to 5-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Cedar Ridge will challenge Roxboro Community at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Western Alamance, they will square off against McMichael at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
