Football Game Preview: Battle Spartans vs. Jefferson City Jays

The Battle Spartans will face off against the Jefferson City Jays at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Battle's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Rock Bridge on Friday. They were outmatched by the Bruins and fell 64-0. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Bruins are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, Jefferson City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Helias 49-14. That's two games in a row now that the Jays have lost by exactly 35 points.

Battle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Jefferson City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Battle couldn't quite finish off Jefferson City in their previous meeting back in October of 2021 and fell 55-52. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
