The Avon Eagles will take on the Kenston Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Avon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, it was close, but Avon sidestepped North Ridgeville for a 2-1 victory.

Avon got a great performance from Luke Holtzman as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

At the plate, Avon's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Sudbrook, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Kenston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against South, falling 17-6. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Bombers' highest-scoring match to date.

Ethan Bennett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.

Avon now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Kenston, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
