Basketball Game Preview: Bloomfield Bombers vs. Penn Yan Academy Mustangs

The Bloomfield Bombers will head out on the road to square off against the Penn Yan Academy Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Bloomfield is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Newark just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to the Reds 64-59.

Meanwhile, Penn Yan Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-48 heartbreaker at the hands of Waterloo. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while the Tigers are ranked 98th).

Bloomfield's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Penn Yan Academy, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Bloomfield didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Penn Yan Academy in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bloomfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
