Softball Recap: Fayetteville Comes Up Short

Fayetteville blew Lincoln out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Lincoln got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 4-2. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Nevaeh Sasnette spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Linly Chapman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Ava Garcia was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Fayetteville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-2. As for Lincoln, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Coming up, Fayetteville will challenge Rogers Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lincoln, they will square off against West Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.4 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
