Recap: Lakewood Lancers vs. Cabrillo Jaguars

The Lakewood Lancers entered their tilt with the Cabrillo Jaguars with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Lakewood came out on top against Cabrillo by a score of 63-53 on Tuesday. Given Lakewood's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Cabrillo is ranked 470th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Devin Butler was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kecedric Dockery, who scored 14 points.
Lakewood is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Cabrillo, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakewood will take on Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cabrillo won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Long Beach Poly at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. Long Beach Poly knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Cabrillo likes a good challenge.
