Wooster took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against North Valleys, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Colts came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers on Saturday, sneaking past 4-3. This was payback for the Colts, who suffered a 13-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cooper Fuss spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Malik Vaden, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Cody Barb was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Wooster was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Valleys only posted a batting average of .214.

The victory made it two in a row for Wooster and bumps their season record up to 7-5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for North Valleys, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Wooster by a score of 14-8 later that day.
