It was a good run, but Mt. Pleasant unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lufkin Panthers by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Panthers are ranked 176th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Mt. Pleasant fell to 13-1-5. As for Lufkin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-5-5 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Mt. Pleasant challenge Whitehouse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lufkin, they are taking a road trip to take on Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lufkin is facing Marshall at the right time seeing as Marshall is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
