Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lutheran). They really took it to the Eagle Valley Devils for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-47 victory. The Lions pushed the score to 59-37 by the end of the third, a deficit the Devils had little chance of recovering from.

Kade Speckman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in shooting accuracy (88%). Another player making a difference was Owen Oldenburg, who went 5 of 7 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Eagle Valley lost on Monday, don't look at Brian Fontana. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 14 to rack up 17 points and six steals. Fontana has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Jonah Medina was another key player, putting up four points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

The win made it two in a row for Lutheran and bumps their season record up to 15-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Eagle Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.

Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-46 victory against Cheyenne Mountain on the 5th. As for Eagle Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 60-58 defeat against Glenwood Springs on the 6th.
