Recap: Rockford Rockets vs. Superior Spartans
The Rockford Rockets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Superior 65-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rockford has scored all season.
Rockford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sienna Thomas, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Engebretson, who scored eight points.
Rockford's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-4. As for Superior, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockford will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Superior won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chippewa Falls at 7:15 p.m. on December 15th. Chippewa Falls will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Superior is ranked 116th).
