Baseball Game Preview: Badger Badgers vs. Union Grove Broncos

For the second straight game, Badger will face off against Union Grove. The Badgers will head out to challenge the Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Badger will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Badger's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Union Grove. Considering the Badgers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Riley Lussmyer, who gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Union Grove off the board. Lussmyer has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Matthew O'Grady was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zach Walton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Badger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Union Grove now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Badger, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Union Grove's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Badger hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329.
