Volleyball Game Preview: Amplus Academy Archers vs. Chaparral Cowboys

The Amplus Academy Archers will head out on the road to square off against the Chaparral Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Amplus Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Amplus Academy came up short against Clark on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Clark scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Chaparral faced Liberty in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Cowboys put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Cowboys not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 4th (when they won 3-0).

Chaparral's got stronger as the match went on, holding Liberty to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-22, 25-13.

Amplus Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Chaparral, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-15 record this season.

Amplus Academy might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Chaparral in their previous matchup on April 2nd. Can the Archers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
