Volleyball Recap: Gorham Fayette Comes Up Short

Gorham Fayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They came up short against the Edgerton Bulldogs, falling 3-0. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gorham Fayette took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-19, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Gorham Fayette saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aspen Brehm had ten digs. Maycee Beers also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Among those leading the charge was Cara Schroeder, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven contests.

Gorham Fayette's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Edgerton, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 11-8.

Gorham Fayette didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Edon on the 30th. Edgerton has also already played their next matchup (against Fairview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
