Baseball Recap: Western Takes a Loss

Western extended their losing streak to 17 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-19 in the process. They came up short against the La Quinta Aztecs, falling 13-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Aztecs this season, with their most recent loss being a 13-1 defeat on Tuesday.

As for La Quinta, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games.

For La Quinta's part, Ray Solis and Jaxon Clark did most of the damage at the plate: Solis went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Clark went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Clark a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Rakowski, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
