Soccer Game Preview: Alleghany vs. Mount Airy

Alleghany is 0-10 against Mount Airy since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Granite Bears at 5:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Alleghany fell victim to Starmount and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to the Rams. Alleghany have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Mount Airy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Elkin, falling 7-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Alleghany's loss dropped their record down to 2-7-1. As for Mount Airy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-1.

Alleghany suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Mount Airy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
