Basketball Recap: Hackley Gets the Win

The Hackley Hornets had just enough and edged out the Nightingale-Bamford Nighthawks 43-40 on Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Nightingale-Bamford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isatu-Mali James dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, James now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy.

The win got Hackley back to even at 1-1. As for Nightingale-Bamford, with the loss, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-5.

Coming up, Hackley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Packer Collegiate Institute at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Pelicans have now posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for Nightingale-Bamford, they will square off against Spence at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
