Basketball Game Preview: Santana Sultans vs. Valhalla Norsemen

The Santana Sultans will square off against the Valhalla Norsemen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Santana knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Valhalla likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Santana strolled past El Cajon Valley with points to spare, taking the game 61-43. The match marked the Sultans' most dominant victory of the season.

Santana can attribute much of their success to Caine Lawless, who posted 14 points. Lawless is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Miller, who scored 12 points.

Meanwhile, Valhalla earned a 50-43 win over Grossmont on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Norsemen.

Santana's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Valhalla, their win bumped their record up to an identical 10-7.

Santana didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Valhalla when the teams last played back in April of 2021, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory. Does Santana have another victory up their sleeve, or will Valhalla turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
