Basketball Game Preview: Jensen Beach Falcons vs. Cardinal Newman Crusaders

The Jensen Beach Falcons will take on the Cardinal Newman Crusaders at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.

Jensen Beach is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering South Fork just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 49-42 to the Bulldogs. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman slipped by Belen Jesuit 46-45 on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Crusaders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Wolverines are ranked 116th).

Jensen Beach's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7. As for Cardinal Newman, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Jensen Beach might still be hurting after the 79-56 defeat they got from Cardinal Newman in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Jensen Beach avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
