Football Game Preview: Angleton Wildcats vs. Smithson Valley Rangers

The Angleton Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Smithson Valley Rangers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Angleton sitting on five straight victories and Smithson Valley on nine.

Angleton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against La Porte, sneaking past 24-21.

Angleton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamarcus Shockley out in front who rushed for 126 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Shockley has posted since back in October.

Meanwhile, Smithson Valley was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Flour Bluff 49-14. The result was nothing new for the Rangers, who have now won 11 games by 22 points or more so far this season.

Smithson Valley's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points per game. As for Angleton, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
