Baseball Recap: Gurdon Takes a Loss

After flying high against Poyen last Wednesday, Gurdon came back down to earth. The Go-Devils lost 14-2 to the Woodlawn Bears on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Go-Devils in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost seven in a row.

Gurdon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Hughes, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Gurdon's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Woodlawn, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Gurdon will welcome Kirby at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Go-Devils are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Woodlawn, they are taking a road trip to square off against White Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
