Cheraw waltzed into their game on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the York Prep Patriots, sneaking past 6-4. That's more bragging rights for the Braves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Anthony Strong was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Quick, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Brayden Michael was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Cheraw pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for York Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheraw will challenge Sumter at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Braves are facing the Gamecocks at the right time seeing as the Gamecocks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for York Prep, they will square off against Great Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
