Softball Recap: McCutcheon Takes a Loss

McCutcheon extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-8 in the process. They fell 6-2 to the Cascade Cadets. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Mavericks couldn't push the score so high this time.

McCutcheon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Davis, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Cascade, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

On Cascade's side, Tara Gruca was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Ava Allen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Looking ahead, McCutcheon will be playing at home against Tri-West Hendricks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Cascade, they will venture away from home to face off against Indian Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
