Football Recap: Amherst Broncos vs. Gordon-Rushville Mustangs
It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Amherst duked it out withGordon-Rushville on Friday. The Amherst Broncos fell 21-13 to the Gordon-Rushville Mustangs. The Broncos just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Gordon-Rushville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Martins, who picked up 115 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Martins also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making three total tackles. Gordon-Rushville also got a significant boost from Kyler Vincent, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 136 yards.
Amherst now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Gordon-Rushville, they moved to 2-7 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
