Football Recap: Milton Hershey Takes a Loss

Milton Hershey had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it six. They came up short against the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils, falling 41-21. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Greencastle-Antrim, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Blake Reuter and Lars Galinanes. Reuter gained 169 total yards and two touchdowns while Galinanes rushed for 96 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. Reuter didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble, made five total tackles, and defended two passes.

Looking ahead, Milton Hershey will host Boiling Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will be up against the Bubblers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Greencastle-Antrim, they are taking a road trip to face off against Juniata at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
