Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Antoine Williams and Madden Martinez Lead Holy Cross to Victory

Holy Cross won the last time they faced Mt. St. Michael Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Knights secured an 18-13 W over the Mountaineers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Holy Cross was led to victory by Madden Martinez and Antoine Williams. Martinez threw for 248 yards and three TDs, while Williams gained 127 total yards and a touchdown. That's the most passing yards Martinez has posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Mt. St. Michael Academy still got an impressive performance from Victor Declet, who rushed for 144 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Declet has become a key player for the Mountaineers: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise.

Holy Cross' win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Mt. St. Michael Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Holy Cross has already played their next game, a 42-0 victory against St. Dominic on the 8th. As for Mt. St. Michael Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 27-13 defeat against Holy Trinity on the 8th.
