Softball Recap: Laguna Creek Cardinals vs. Liberty Ranch Hawks
Laguna Creek gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Liberty Ranch Hawks with a sharp 12-4 win.
Claire Hart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Kate Saxton and Sophia Rials did most of the damage at the plate: Saxton scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Rials went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The dominant performance also gave Rials a new career-high in hits (four). Azariah Maddox was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Laguna Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Ranch only posted an OBP of .355.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laguna Creek will head out to take on Davis Sr. at 3:30 p.m. on March 5th. As for Liberty Ranch, they will head out on the road to challenge Elk Grove at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
