Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paramus Catholic). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hudson Catholic Hawks a 16-0 shutout on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Paladins, who have now won five matches by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Paramus Catholic pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hudson Catholic, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paramus Catholic will venture away from home to face off against Immaculate Heart Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Paladins 2.9, the Blue Eagles 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hudson Catholic, they will head out on the road to challenge Hoboken at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
