Baseball Recap: Alden Comes Up Short

After flying high against East Aurora on Tuesday, Alden came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Eden Raiders by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Alden saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Peresan, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Peresan has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Alex Amedick also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Alden has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Eden, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

While Alden had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
