Football Game Preview: Foster Falcons vs. Strake Jesuit Fighting Crusaders

The Foster Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Strake Jesuit Fighting Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Foster's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 23-0 margin over Alief Hastings. The game marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season.

Seth Ross and Jordan Williams were among the main playmakers for Foster as the former threw for 103 yards and one TD and the latter rushed for 114 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Williams has posted since back in September of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Foster was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 200 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Foster didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Eli Smith and Langston Hogan.

Meanwhile, Strake Jesuit entered their tilt with Alief Hastings on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They breezed past the Bears to the tune of 41-7. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

Foster better keep an eye on John Hebert. He was instrumental in Strake Jesuit's win, rushing for 252 yards and four scores while picking up 13.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 24 yards and one touchdown. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Hebert posted at least 118 rushing yards in the 22nd games prior.

Foster's record now sits at 3-6. As for Strake Jesuit, their record is now 7-2.

Foster suffered a grim 31-7 defeat to Strake Jesuit in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hebert, who rushed for 232 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Now that the Falcons know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
