Volleyball Recap: Long Reach Comes Up Short

Long Reach lost against River Hill back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lightning fell 3-1 to the Hawks.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23, 21-25, 25-12.

Meredith Brown paced Long Reach's offense, picking up 12 kills. Brown got some help from Evalyn Ordonez and her 16 assists. Finally, Brown was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Long Reach's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for River Hill, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Long Reach has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Wilde Lake on the 16th. As for River Hill, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Atholton at 6:00 p.m. on October 6.
