Softball Recap: Pineville Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Pineville waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Wayne County Cardinals.

Rachel Howard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Isabella Adams was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Pineville's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Wayne County, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-9-1 record.

Looking ahead, Pineville will square off against Clay County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wayne County, they will take on Rockcastle County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
