Soccer Recap: Cardinal Newman Takes a Loss

After soaring to four goals the game before, Cardinal Newman was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They fell just short of the Jupiter Christian Eagles by a score of 2-1. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Cardinal Newman's goal came courtesy of AJ Herlong, who's now up to three this season.

Cardinal Newman's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Jupiter Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5-1 record this season.

Cardinal Newman has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Suncoast on the 11th. As for Jupiter Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-1 loss against Pine on the 13th.
