Preview: Bangor Slaters vs. Pen Argyl Green Knights
Bangor has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Pen Argyl Green Knights at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Pen Argyl took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bangor, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Bangor's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Saucon Valley by a score of 44-33.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Pen Argyl, who are still winless after their seventh game. They were outmatched by Notre Dame-Green Pond on the road and fell 58-24. While losing is never fun, Pen Argyl can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while Notre Dame-Green Pond is ranked 57th).
Bangor is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Pen Argyl, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7.
Bangor strolled past Pen Argyl in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 56-39. Will Bangor repeat their success, or does Pen Argyl have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
