Volleyball Recap: Santa Teresa Starts off Right with Win over Loretto

Santa Teresa gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Loretto Angels by a score of 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Desert Warriors in their matchups with the Angels: they've now won three in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 12-25, 25-17, 25-13.

Santa Teresa found their leader in sophomore Avery Garcia, who had 16 digs.

Santa Teresa was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Loretto is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Santa Teresa will take on Hot Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Loretto, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Andress at 6:30 p.m. on September 5.
