Softball Recap: Madison Southern Comes Up Short

Madison Southern lost to South Laurel back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles came up short against the Cardinals, falling 14-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anna Kate Cress was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Madison Southern's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for South Laurel, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison Southern will face off against Henderson County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Colonels' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Laurel, they will square off against Bryan Station at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
