Basketball Recap: Natoma Tigers vs. Pike Valley Panthers

Natoma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 61-24 loss at the hands of the Pike Valley Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 70-45 loss last Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Natoma saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Colton Prowse posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Andrew Cooper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pike Valley, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 14 boards. Cooper's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Braxton Patterson, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 15 points.

Natoma's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Pike Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers face off against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pike Valley, they will host St. John's/Tipton Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. John's/Tipton Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Pike Valley likes a good challenge.
