            Baseball Recap: Millard North Mustangs vs. Lincoln East Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Millard North can now relate to. They fell just short of the Lincoln East Spartans by a score of  5-4 on Friday. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting  back in May of 2024.
 Wade Spencer was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out nine batters over  5.2 innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Chase Machal made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run. That  home run was  his first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Ripken Fleck, who  went 1-for-4 with two  stolen bases and one  run.
Millard North's loss dropped their record down to 23-13. As for Lincoln East, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won 21 of their last 22 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-3 record  this season.
As of now, neither Millard North nor Lincoln East have any future games scheduled.
