Softball Recap: Fayette Academy Takes a Loss

Fayette Academy dropped their record down to 8-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Trinity Christian Academy Lions by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-3 back in March.

Hannah Fly made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Paige Ladner was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

As for Trinity Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since March 21st.

On Trinity Christian Academy's side, Haley Lewis was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Lewis has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with four RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Rylee Hidrogo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madey Putman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Coming up, Fayette Academy will face off against Jackson Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will challenge Scotts Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
