Basketball Recap: Byron Comes Up Short

The Byron Eagles were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 36-35 to the Coleman Comets. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Comets 14-4 in the first quarter.

Coleman found their leader in sophomore Kendall Allen, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine steals. Klaira Sysak was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Byron's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Byron and Coleman will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles will challenge rival Chesaning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Coleman is set to square off against their familiar foe Carson City-Crystal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
