Softball Recap: Casey County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Wayne County on Friday, Casey County came back down to earth. The Rebels took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anderson County Bearcats on Monday.

Harmony Meece/Richardson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Elizabeth Forbes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Aslan Wethington was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Casey County's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Anderson County, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Casey County will head out to take on Somerset at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anderson County, they will face off against Woodford County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
