Baseball Recap: Andover Comes Up Short

Andover fell victim to Wakefield Memorial and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Golden Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Andover saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Pulsifer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Andover and nudges their season record down to 13-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Wakefield Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5-1 record this season.

Andover will look to defend their home field on Monday against Shrewsbury at 10:00 a.m. As for Wakefield Memorial, they will venture away from home to face off against Peabody Veterans Memorial at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
