Soccer Game Preview: Bixby vs. Broken Arrow

The Bixby Spartans will challenge the Broken Arrow Tigers on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bixby comes in on ten and Broken Arrow on four.

Bixby is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Norman a 2-0 shutout. Give Bixby's defense some credit: that's the team's eighth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Broken Arrow faced Edmond North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Tigers who were credited with the victory. Broken Arrow got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Edmond North's three.

Broken Arrow's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those eight matches. As for Bixby, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.

Bixby came out on top in a nail-biter against Broken Arrow in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
