Basketball Preview: Butler Bulldogs vs. Sun Valley Spartans
The Butler Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Sun Valley Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sun Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Butler, who comes in off a win.
While Bulldogs fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They enjoyed a cozy 75-56 win over West Cabarrus on Thursday. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 48-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverines cut but never quite recovered from.

Butler relied on the efforts of Isaiah White, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Terrance Badio, who shot 64% from the field en route to 23 points. White is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Shine, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points and eight boards.
Butler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, Sun Valley came up short against Parkwood on Wednesday and fell 67-55.
