Basketball Game Preview: Two Rivers Warriors vs. South St. Paul Packers

Two Rivers is 1-9 against South St. Paul since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Two Rivers Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the South St. Paul Packers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Two Rivers' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

Last Tuesday, Two Rivers came up short against Tartan and fell 76-64. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Titans are ranked 21st).

Meanwhile, South St. Paul was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 67-47 to Mahtomedi. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Packers have suffered against the Zephyrs since March 11, 2021.

Two Rivers' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for South St. Paul, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Things could have been worse for Two Rivers, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 85-70 loss to South St. Paul in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Two Rivers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
