Volleyball Recap: Westerville North Takes a Loss

Westerville North extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Johnnies from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

As for Johnstown-Monroe, their win bumped their record up to 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 24, 2024.

Johnstown-Monroe was led to victory by Luciana Smith and Giada Nieves. Smith had 20 digs and two assists, while Nieves had seven digs. Smith is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

Coming up, Westerville North will be playing at home against Hayes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Groveport-Madison on the 23rd.
