Baseball Game Preview: Dunn Earwigs vs. Santa Clara Saints

For the second straight game, Dunn will face off against Santa Clara. The Earwigs are taking a road trip to face off against the Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dunn has three straight wins, Santa Clara has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Dunn is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Santa Clara with a sharp 14-2 victory on Tuesday.

At the plate, Theodore Anderson was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Von Der Lieth, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Dunn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Clara only posted an OBP of .276.

Dunn pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Santa Clara, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
