Softball Recap: Parkview Takes a Loss

Parkview extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 18 on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-10. They came up short against the Williams Bay Bulldogs, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 back in April.

As for Williams Bay, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5. Considering they have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Williams Bay's part, Sarena Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Brown has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Tatum Hermance was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kiera Lyng was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Parkview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 17-1 defeat against Johnson Creek on the 4th. As for Williams Bay, they have also already played their next game, a 9-7 loss against Deerfield on the 4th.
