Baseball Recap: Pisgah Triumphs

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Pisgah ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Section Lions. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Mason Gass, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Pisgah is 3-1 when Gass posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-8 otherwise. Jackson Smalley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Pisgah's record now sits at 7-9. As for Section, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

Looking ahead, Pisgah will head out to take on Ider at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Section, they will be playing at home against Geraldine at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
